An Odd Day Supports The Dougie Mac Hospice
At The Talentum Learning Trust, we are proud to celebrate the compassion and community spirit that thrive within our schools. One example of this is the recent initiative led by the School Council at All Saints' CofE First School. As part of their commitment to being agents for change, the pupils took the lead in supporting a cause close to their hearts.
On Thursday 10 July, All Saints' hosted a vibrant and joyful Bright Tops & Odd Socks Day to raise funds for the Dougie Mac Hospice, a local charity providing vital care for adults, young adults, and children with life-limiting illnesses throughout Staffordshire.
- Children arrived at school wearing their brightest tops and craziest socks, filling the day with colour, smiles, and fun.
- The event was organised by the School Council, who acted as true agents for change, demonstrating leadership and compassion aligned with the Trust’s values.
- Thanks to the generosity of pupils, families, and staff, the school raised an impressive £232 for Dougie Mac.
This fundraiser reflects the Talentum Learning Trust’s dedication to aspiration, compassion, and integrity. By encouraging pupils to actively participate in community support, we foster empathy and social responsibility—key qualities that help every learner flourish.
Why This Matters
Dougie Mac Hospice plays an essential role in our community, offering comfort and specialist care to those facing serious health challenges. Every penny raised contributes directly to sustaining their invaluable services.
By supporting this cause, All Saints' pupils not only made a tangible difference but also lived out the Trust’s vision of “Strength through collaboration, A place where everyone flourishes.” Their actions show how compassion and collaboration can create positive change beyond the classroom.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the School Council’s fundraiser. Well done, everyone!
